Originally from Cleveland, Ohio my family relocated to Arizona in the early 1980’s. Having lived in Arizona most of my life, I consider myself an Arizona native. After three years in the Southeast, I am very excited to be back in the West.
I started my culinary career in 1988 at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale where I was inspired by Chef Anton Brunbauer to pursue a career as a chef. I continued to develop my culinary foundations at notable destinations such as the Boulders Resort, The Phoenician Resort, and 8700 at the Citadel.
After a summer assignment as a camp chef for a non-profit organization serving disadvantaged children in the Hudson Valley of New York, I returned to Arizona and accepted an assistant banquet chef position at The Desert Mountain Club in North Scottsdale. It was then that I realized that I wanted to focus my career and talents in serving members in an exclusive club environment.
In my 23 years as a club chef, I have directed award winning culinary programs with Firerock Country Club in Fountain Hills, Arizona; Green Gables Country Club in Denver, Colorado; Blackstone Country Club in Peoria, Arizona; Discovery Land Company and Brier Creek Country Club in Raleigh, NC.
In my time away from work I love to spend time with my wife Ellen, daughter Lindsay and son Joe. We enjoy watching Ohio and Arizona sports teams. We have a Chesapeake Bay Retriever named Toby and plan to get him a brother when we get settled in Midland.
